ABOUT
I'm Sam Rowley, a 17 year old Britiain-based wildlife photographer and this is my photography website.
I've been interested in photography since I went on safari with my family when I was 11, and I always use my Dad's cameras and lenses: Nikon D200 and Nikon D300 / Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3, Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8, Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6, Nikon 105mm f/2.8, Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8, Nikon 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5. The pictures that you are seeing are mainly from Kew Gardens/Pond, Richmond Park and the London Wetland Centre (as I live in London). If you've got any locations or information on some unusual or spectacular wildlife in London, I'd love to hear from you and would really appreciate it. It would allow me to expand my portfolio of London wildlife.
My photos appear in places such as the Wildlife Photographer of the Year annual competition, Getty Images, Steve Bloom Images stock photography website, the BBC Wildlife Magazine and their website, Outdoor Photographer Magazine, the BBC website and BBC Autumnwatch Unsprung television show.
I also have a Flickr page featuring some of my best photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/64230103@N06/...and a 500px account: http://www.500px.com/samrowley
Please feel free to sign the guestbook, comment on a picture, or email me, again, at [email protected]. I will take any advice on board and hope to improve on it!
All of the subjects of my pictures have been taken in the wild unless it says otherwise in the photo caption. I limit the photoshopping of my pictures to minimal cropping, brightness/contrast levels, saturation/warmth levels, straightening, noise reduction, dust-spot removal and sharpening.
Lastly, thanks for taking the time to visit my website and I hope you visit again in the future.
